Long ago, when the furnaces beneath the old mills burned day and night, there was said to be a small spirit who lived within the embers themselves. The workers called it Cinderloo, though none could say who first gave it that name.

Cinderloo was not a ghost of a person.

It was something stranger.

Born from sparks, ash, and the restless heat of the forge, the little spirit would drift quietly among the flames, watching the iron glow white-hot as it was shaped into tools, wheels, and great machines.

The workers sometimes claimed they saw a tiny figure glowing in the fire.
